Navigation
When we implemented texasWINthem, we wanted to build a tool that is fully controllable by keyboard. Of course you can also use the mouse to navigate through the application, but we think that control by keyboard is much more efficient.
The following sections explain, how to navigate through texasWINthem without using the mouse.
Navigation between Sections
The input sections are located on the main dialog. In the screenshots below, the sections are marked with a red frame. You can jump around between these sections.
The following figures show you how to use CTRL + cursor keys (arrows) to easily navigate from one input section to another.
- The red frames indicate the different sections.
- The red arrows show you, where you get by pressing the given key combination.
Navigation between Input Fields
The input fields are located on the main dialog. You can jump around between these sections.
The following figure shows you how to use the TAB key to easily navigate from one input field to another.
If you additionally press SHIFT, you jump in the opposite direction of the arrows.
Shortcuts for Buttons
The buttons are located on the main dialog and in sub dialogs, e.g. the Options dialog. Each button has got his shortcut.
The following figures show you which shortcut, together with the ALT key, can be used as shortcut for which button.
The key, that gets underlined when the ALT key is pressed, is the shortcut for the corresponding button.
Shortcuts for Suits and Card Values
The shortcuts for the suits and card values can be set in the Options dialog. The two following screenshots show you, where exactly.
The following situation of the pocket cards shows you how to use the shortcuts:
With the above shortcuts you can enter this siutation as follows:
- At the beginning, the input focus is on the first input field of the pocket cards.
- The following sequence subsequently sets all suits and card values: a - h - 8 - h - 6 - s - 2 - c - 8 - d
Navigation on Tabbed Dialogs
The dialog with the options is composed of different tabs. Each tab has got his shortcut.
The following figures show you which shortcut, together with the ALT key, can be used as shortcut for direct access to a tab in the dialog.
Exactly as for the buttons, the underlined key is the shortcut.
